ADVENT CALENDAR UPCYCLING
Usually in the end of January the self-made advent calendar is hanging in sad tristesse or has been banished already. Or has it been a chocolate one which has long since been digested? No matter what - if you got a self-made one be a good human and give it back some life!
I've made one for the boy and put all the presents up on a really big branch (how funny it must've looked when I was creepily hauling it through the woods - it's heavier than it looks!). I also added some fairy lights to spruce it up a bit. Thought it would be really decorative. As it's been still kinda pretty after all the presents were gone I asked myself: Why put it down only after 24 days?
As it's not really wintery outside (more like a wet grayness) and spring hasn't officially sprung I thought about decorations that would grace the branch any season. It so concluded into some origami art although I didn't feel ready to become an origami artist so soon. But at least I tried! So here is my result:
I also folded two little envelopes thinking it'd be cute hinting that these lovie dovies could also be carrier pigeons. And also to give it the slight look of a mobile. I hung them all up with some white string out of the sewing box. With a needle I stung vaguely between the doves' wings to let them hang heads up.
To give you some start-up support folding these doves I filmed a little tutorial on that. After folding some it really gets easier and you don't need guidance anymore.
(Please don't mind that fairy lights-stranger-things-action. It's going a bit crazy since there's an defective contact. Not all souls can be saved.)
And that's it folks! Nothing magical about it. But I hope you liked this little inspo. Especially the video that really got on my nerves over times. But hey - if you never try (cutting in Premiere Pro) you'll probably never improve.
If you have any questions feel free to ask! Stay safe xx
