MY ALL TIME FAVORITE GO TO LIPSTICKS
It's no secret that I'm owning more than just two lipsticks. Everyone has one weakness turning into a slight addiction, right? So with me it's lipstick (maybe also shoes and coats, but ya know... different story). Even though it might seem I'm living the total excess, yet I became kinda picky over the years regarding my lipstick choices. I prefer matte to creamy, flashy to subtle colors and almost always search for a matching lipliner to my newest additions.
So I thought it'd be over time to show you my most loved and worn babes. These are the ones I'd choose over any other lipstick cause they're perfect matches for almost every outfit. Of course it's beautiful to be able to pick a shade matching your outfit perfectly from a greater collection. But when going traveling you have to make a choice. So here are the colors I'd pick!
LADY IN RED
My greatest weakness when it comes to lipsticks?
A classic red lip. Preferably a striking matte red. Most of the times you'll see me showing off that flashy red lip in everyday life because why not? Red lipstick is the little black dress of lipsticks. That's just how it is.
This combo friends, is by far the best I've ever treasured.
Okay, to be honest: The liquid lipstick is the best. The lipliner fits well but there's a better one by 'trend IT UP' that they removed from the range (buuuh). I'm still searching for a new perfect co-worker for this red goddess. Any suggestions?
Anyways - the outcome is almost the same! With lipliner applied (and also without if you work precisely) the lipstick sits charmingly sharp on the outlines of your lips & stays all day long. Also food isn't a real enemy. Definitely a keeper.
My first ever lipstick...
has been 'Ruby Woo' by MAC and it's still one of my favorites. It's a bit darker than 'Santa Sangre' and more like a blood-red but mostly the same regarding to lasting all day. Also it's not a bit blue-toned which I like best. I don't like to wear lipliner with this one because it dries out the lips already on its on. In terms of food it's a bit trickier than 'Santa Sangre' because it often smears at the outlines. Nevertheless a hella good red shade that goes perfectly with everything.
Retro Matte 'Ruby Woo' by MAC
THE ROSEWOOD CHICS
Over the years...
I became more and more comfortable wearing shades merging into the 'nude' section. Still you won't see me wearing a real nude shade only one day in my life. Rosewood colors so became my compromise and work out best for me on days I'm not in a striking color mood but don't wanna quit my beloved lipstick.
This exact combo is currently my fave because it's expressive on the lips and subtle at the same time.
with this KIKO babe. It's a bit pinkier than the '430' and goes perfectly with dusky pink clothing. First I was skeptical about the finish of this crayon (which I never used before) but it really got me hooked over times. It's super long-lasting and handy in application. Perfect for traveling!
KIKO Free Spirit Lips & Cheeks '105' (similar one here)
HOTTEST PINK IN TOWN
And by hottest I mean sexiest of all.
This is the lipstick you need in your life if you're into bright shades like me. It's so striking and brightens up every tired face within an eye blink! The finish is also matte. It goes best with its matching liner and stays on for ages. Party night ahead? Here you go.
Last but not least...
another classic. For me Chanels 'Romy' is the perfect pink for all occasions. It has no blue undertones and glides on super smoothly. You don't need any liner cause the formulation is so rich & even though it's a shiny lipstick it lasts surprisingly long. 'Romy' will keep you happy on a long haul - promise.
Chanel Rouge Coco '462 Romy'
THE WHOLE SQUAD
So here they are - unfiltered. I took this shot in daylight but unfortunately the camera doesn't catch the colors exactly as they are. But anyways - you get the impression.
MY FOUR GOLDEN LIPSTICK RULES
I'm not an expert but here are the rules I stick to when it comes to lipstick in general:
Always use a lipliner before applying matte liquid lipstick. The finish of color will be so much fuller and the outlines much sharper!
After application: Get a tissue and squeeze your fresh tinted lips on it a few times. This will take off residual color and makes it last longer.
Keep a pocket mirror in all your handbags to be able to fresh up your lips easily after dinner/lunch/brunch/snacks... you know.
NUXE 'Reve de Miel' baumes lèvres - buy now & thank me later.
So that's it for now! Hope you enjoyed this little glimpse inside my lipstick drawer. I'd also love to hear about your all time favorites you can't go a day without! Stay safe, folks. xx
